A project is already in the production phase, involving as many as 30 types of hazardous chemicals (such as those that are flammable, explosive, or highly toxic). The production process entails dangerous processes such as chlorination and diazotization, and the revised design for safety facilities has been approved. The problem is that the project lacks any drawings prepared by a legitimate design institute, and there are many serious violations. They plan to ask us to provide additional design drawings, including (general layout plan, process flow diagram, equipment layout plan, lightning and static electricity protection grounding plans, classification of explosion-hazardous areas, fire extinguisher placement plan, fire water supply plan, foam fire suppression system layout plan, and detection and alarm systems for flammable and toxic gases). The construction party does not pay any attention to safe production; it only carries out minor repairs and only builds the control room building (a shoddy building that is not connected to the DCS system). I’m not sure I can do it well. There’s no problem with producing the drawings, but what if something goes wrong (and the possibility of that isn’t low)? Will supplementary acceptance drawings like these be held primarily responsible in case of any issues in the future? Can such a project be carried out? Is it very dangerous?
The responsibility is great; you must carry out the work in accordance with the relevant standards. Moreover, for processes such as chlorination and diazotization, it is now mandatory to use DCS and ESD systems
There aren’t even properly designed drawings – how could it pass the review for safety facility design? If you produce drawings now, should they be based on standard design principles or should those drawings be supplemented according to the current situation of the company? Projects like this carry too much risk; if an accident occurs, there will be no one to take responsibility!

You are responsible for the drawings you produce! If the content of the drawings does not meet the requirements of safety design standards and you still approve them, then you will be held responsible in case anything goes wrong! Since it doesn’t meet the standard requirements, you can’t issue the drawings! Proceed with caution and pay attention to safety!
In my opinion, it’s not a good idea to undertake such a design task; if something goes wrong, you definitely won’t be able to avoid responsibility.
If both the design aspects and the construction aspects of this project meet the design specifications, then why can’t it be designed? It can also help businesses overcome difficulties; of course, if the task is particularly challenging, a slightly higher fee can be charged. If it’s not met, it’s better not to do it.

Of course not. You yourself know there are many violations and things that don’t comply with the rules. Whether the drawings you produce match the current situation or not, you can’t avoid taking responsibility in the end

As long as a safety permit for the construction project is obtained from the safety supervision department, it can be carried out, especially the review of the safety facility design.
It must absolutely not be done. It doesn’t matter as long as there are no problems. Responsibility must be held in case of an accident.
