Selection of steel pipe standards?

According to GB150, for steel pipes specified in GB8163, the wall thickness can only be 10 or less; but can it be greater than 10 as well? For GB9948 and GB6749 steel pipes, the maximum diameter is 273, and the number of available specifications is limited, which restricts selection options. Could GB5310 be used? However, GB150 does not recommend the use of GB5310
If GB8163 pipes are used, those with a wall thickness greater than 10 should not be usable, as the calculation documents will not approve them. In my opinion, standard recommendations not included in GB150, such as GB5310, cannot be used.
I think it is feasible to use such pipes, as the heating surface tubes in power station boilers and the steam and water pipelines mostly utilize pipes in accordance with GB5310 standards. Since both boilers and pressure vessels are pressure-bearing equipment, the working conditions for steel pipes used in boilers are, to some extent, more severe than those for pipes used in pressure vessels, as they are in direct contact with flames or high-temperature flue gases. Therefore, if the design requirements for pressure vessels permit it, steel pipes meeting GB5310 standards can be used in boilers as well. Furthermore, the standards for steel plates used in boilers and those for pressure vessels have been merged into GB713-2008; I believe that the standards for steel pipes used in boilers and pressure vessels will also be unified – it’s just a matter of time.
Personally, I think it’s better to use the standards recommended in GB150, as that is more reliable.
The steel plates have been combined; the steel pipes should be ready soon as well. As for whether any changes will be made during the revision of GB150, we’ll have to wait and see.

In fact, GB8163, GB9948, GB6749, GB5310, etc. are all standards for pipes used in pressure pipelines; GB150 merely adopts those parts of them that are suitable for use in pressure vessels. When used in pressure pipelines, they are not subject to the restrictions regarding pipe wall thickness specified in Table 4-3 of GB150 on the allowable stress of steel pipes.
If it is a pressure vessel, materials should be selected in strict accordance with GB150-1998.
GB3087 can be used in place of GB8163, and GB150 should also be modified.
