The book states that the liquid seal tube should be filled to its minimum height; and when its position is related to the equipment (or pipes), the required minimum distance should be maintained. I understand that the liquid seal tube has specific height requirements, but why is it necessary to maintain a certain distance between it and the equipment? I see; the liquid seal device maintains a certain pressure within the equipment system by using the liquid level in the liquid seal tank, as controlled through an insertion tube, thereby preventing the leakage of the medium. Therefore, a certain height for the liquid column is necessary. At the same time, if the liquid column is higher than the equipment, water will flow back into the equipment. Hence, the liquid level of the seal must be lower than that of the equipment. Moreover, if there are fluctuations in the equipment’s pressure and it occasionally reaches a negative pressure state, then even if the liquid level of the seal is at the same level as or slightly lower than that of the equipment, the liquid in the seal could still flow into the equipment. Thus, the liquid column of the seal needs to be at a lower height than the equipment in order to prevent the sealing liquid from flowing back into the system. Right? It seems that process design is like life: only by being thorough at every step can one move forward steadily.
