When referring to previous drawings in the design, the following issue was identified: regarding the condensate water in the reactor jacket, some process diagrams show a hydrostatic separator along with valves before and after it, while others show only a valve in front of the hydrostatic separator; in some cases, a bypass is also required. How should these different configurations be distinguished?
Valves should be added at the beginning and end, along with a bypass system
Typically, factories install valves before and after the steam trap, as well as a bypass circuit. During normal operation, the bypass is closed, and the steam trap is used to discharge condensate water. The bypass can be utilized during maintenance work on the pipes or the valves, which makes such a setup convenient in actual production.
If the steam trap does not have backpressure, a rear valve may not be necessary; however, if backpressure is present, a valve is definitely required, as otherwise it would be impossible to isolate and service the steam trap. A bypass is generally needed, mainly for use during the start-up and shutdown of the equipment. During these operations, a large amount of condensate is generated, and the steam trap is unable to remove it quickly enough, so the bypass must be opened to allow for rapid removal of this condensate. It also helps to quickly warm up the pipelines and equipment.
With front and rear valves, it is not necessary to install a bypass; the function of the front and rear valves serves as a bypass to some extent.
The 4th floor is the correct answer. If the condensate is not recycled but discharged into a sewer, then there is no need to install valves at the back; only one valve needs to be installed at the front. But if it is to be fed into the condensate recovery system, then it must be equipped with ones at both the front and the back

Generally, valves are installed before and after the steam trap, as well as a bypass, with a valve on the bypass as well. When servicing the steam trap, the condensate is routed through a bypass; or when the equipment has just been started up and there is a large amount of condensate, it can be drained more quickly using the bypass.
It can be connected directly to the ground without the need for a valve at the back; if recovery is required, valves should be installed at both the front and the back. The valve at the front is essential, and a valve should also be installed on the bypass line.
