I have been working in Shaanxi for over half a year now; I work at a methanol plant that uses world-class manufacturing processes. The design was carried out by the Sixth Chemical Engineering Institute, while the construction was undertaken by the 14th Chemical Construction Company under the Ministry of Chemical Industry. Overall, I am basically satisfied with the design by the Sixth Chemical Engineering Institute, but there are many areas where heat tracing is required, and it seems to have been implemented inadequately. How was this judgment made? On the one hand, it was thanks to the careful guidance of the experienced workers from the 14th Construction Unit; on the other hand, it was due to the harsh conditions of temperatures as low as minus 30 degrees. It’s truly horrible to see – many heat tracing pipes have been damaged by freezing, as have the stop valves; in some cases, the pipes have cracks of almost a meter long due to freezing. The consequences are serious; I hope to hear from fellow Sichuanese for any good suggestions – let’s discuss it. Thank you all in advance!
