Is it feasible to design a circulating cooler for tank storage tanks?

In a tank design, we want to cool the material through external circulation; should this heat exchanger be vertical or horizontal? If it is horizontal, is it more appropriate for the feed inlet to be at the top or at the bottom?
The type of cooler or heat exchanger used for external circulation – vertical or horizontal – depends mainly on the layout conditions of the equipment on site. In our facility, the external circulation coolers located within the framework are vertical, whereas those in the tank area are horizontal. As for the layout of the pipe openings (feed inlets, etc.), it should be determined based on the process requirements, taking into account as well which side of the heat exchanger the material and cooling water (steam) will flow along.
