How is coordination between the upstream and downstream sections achieved during the pressure increase process after feeding material into the Texaco gasifier? Should the vent valve be used first to increase the pressure in the furnace, after which methanol is supplied, or should methanol be supplied once the furnace pressure reaches a certain level, with the pressure being increased simultaneously while venting and supplying methanol at the same time? How are the venting from the methanol section and the venting from vaporization coordinated?
What is the pressure in your unit’s furnace??? If methanol is present, then conversion takes place. After successful feeding of the material for gasification, close the vent valve and raise the pressure to a certain level. Once both the pressure and temperature have increased, then proceed with equalizing the pressure and directing the gas
Our unit’s furnace is 4.0 MPa
For the first feed, it is necessary to warm the pipes first, and raise the pressure in the purification, temperature rise, and catalyst reduction systems.
At the beginning of feeding, the pressure, temperature, and composition of the syngas do not meet the requirements of the shift converter, and liquid may also be present; therefore, a flare is necessary. Once the pressure reaches the required levels, the flare vent valve can be closed slowly and gradually to direct the gas back into the system.
The operating pressure of the furnace in our facility is 4.0 MPa. Does one need to raise the pressure to 4.0 MPa by venting first, and then supply gas downstream?
It depends on whether it is a initial startup or a normal furnace shutdown. In the case of a normal furnace shutdown, gas is introduced once the furnace pressure reaches the same level as that of the operating furnace; whereas in the case of an initial startup, it depends on the process requirements.
