I would like to ask how to connect the two tube sheets in a heat exchanger with two stages in series; are gaskets used in between? Looking forward to it.....
A two-stage series heat exchanger? It’s a double-shell and plate heat exchanger, right? There is no gasket needed between the two tube sheets of a double-tube-sheet heat exchanger.
We built a series-connected heat exchanger, with one long heat exchange tube and one short one; there is a distance between the two tube sheets (about several dozen millimeters), and then a section of cylinder is welded in. However, flanges can also be used for disassembly, but they must be added separately, along with a section of cylinder, to prevent the heat exchange tubes from touching each other. As mentioned on the third floor, when connecting two heat exchangers in series, is there any specification regarding the distance to be left between them? Can’t we just not leave?
I have read information on double-wall plates; they are generally used in situations where leakage of the medium is not allowed. However, the medium flowing through the tubes of the heat exchanger we are working on is water
If the tube sheets are connected in this series configuration, then what’s the difference from having a single heat exchanger? The reason for using two heat exchangers in series is likely to ensure that one can operate independently if the other needs to be repaired; therefore, series connection makes sense from that perspective. As for whether gaskets are needed, it depends more on the temperature and pressure of the working medium as well as the sealing design
