If I want to adjust the heating temperature and only need to operate one valve, is it better to adjust the inlet valve or the outlet valve? Thank you!
Exports are more reasonable, but the impact of imports and exports should be different.
Of course, export regulation is more reasonable, mainly considering energy-saving applications
I believe it is reasonable to regulate the inlet; in the case of steam, regulating the inlet can reduce steam consumption, thereby achieving energy savings. Adjusting exports is less effective than adjusting imports.
Firstly, installing control valves at both the inlet and outlet is not solely intended to regulate flow rate. In terms of flow, the temperature of the steam drops due to heat exchange with the radiators; thus, it is indeed possible to reduce the flow rate in a more economical manner. Therefore, it is better to adjust the flow at the inlet.
In the case of steam heating, there is usually a steam trap behind the outlet valve; the condensate from this steam trap is discharged directly, or it is discharged after being combined with water from other heating systems. However, most steam traps don’t work very well; therefore, in order to maximize condensation of steam within the radiators and save steam, the outlet valve needs to be adjusted to an appropriate opening degree. Imports are used to adjust the room temperature: turn it up a bit when it’s cold, lower the setting or turn it off altogether when it’s warm. Plumbing systems are generally circular in operation; adjusting the inlet will suffice.
Another advantage of installing it at the entrance is maintenance
If it’s related to plumbing, then adjust the outlet; this changes the water flow rate. With a reduced circulation rate, the water temperature doesn’t rise, and thus temperature control is achieved. If you adjust the inlet valve, gas will accumulate in the radiator, preventing water from entering and resulting in the radiator not heating properly.
