We are currently working on a project, and it’s necessary to increase the ammonia pressure gauge pressure on site. This is a requirement for our process; should we let them choose the appropriate gauge, or should we select it ourselves and then pass it on to the procurement department? If we are to choose the model ourselves, which standards should we refer to? I would appreciate some guidance from a teacher.
The normal procedure is for the process to provide the requirements for the instruments, after which the instruments are selected.
Generally, the process only specifies the requirements, and it is the instrumentation that determines the appropriate model; however, sometimes the process also needs to provide several suitable models for reference when selecting the instrumentation
How do I order that model? Should there be some kind of standard, like a valve, and it be indicated in the format of J41W-16P or something like that?
Different media and different processes require the use of different pressure gauges; for example, you can choose ordinary stainless steel Bourdon tube pressure gauges, shock-resistant pressure gauges, corrosion-resistant pressure gauges, oxygen pressure gauges, and so on.

Selection is a task specific to the instrumentation field; please handle it professionally. It is good to learn more about related fields, but one must be clear in what one does. There are many details involved in instrument selection, just as there are many details in process design; inexperienced instrument designers may make mistakes without even realizing it

For pressure gauges, the process requirements specify only the measurement range, the medium to be used (including temperature and pressure parameters), and the accuracy requirements; whereas the piping specialty may impose requirements regarding axis orientation and radial dimensions. Everything else is determined by the instruments. But generally speaking, the process already knows which pressure gauge to use, and it can be determined entirely by the process. As for the specific models, different manufacturers have different models.

Process condition specifications: medium, temperature, operating pressure, maximum pressure, whether the pressure is stable or fluctuates significantly, precision requirements, ambient temperature, presence of corrosive gases, etc., as well as requirements regarding the location of measurement points.
Conditions imposed on instruments by the process directly
