Construction Begins on Kaixiang Tianyuan’s 200,000-ton Dimethyl Ether Project / Author/Source: Sanmenxia Daily, Date: 2009-3-18 On March 12, the 200,000-ton per year dimethyl ether production project of Henan Kaixiang Tianyuan Chemical Co., Ltd. was launched in the Maling Industrial Park in Yima City, marking another coal chemical project being established in Yima. As an alternative fuel for domestic use and in vehicles, dimethyl ether offers advantages such as ease of use, complete combustion, non-toxic emissions, and safety and hygiene; it is regarded as the most ideal clean and high-quality fuel as well as a new energy source for the 21st century. The project is planned to require an investment of 110 million yuan, with a designed annual production capacity of 200,000 tons of dimethyl ether, and the construction period is expected to be 8 months.
