Question: For Inconel 600 sheet metal, which welding materials should be used? What are the key things to pay attention to during welding?
When selecting welding materials for Inconel 600, it is essential to ensure that the chemical composition of the weld metal is similar to that of the base material; the levels of impurity elements such as S and P must be kept very low, so that the weld metal possesses the desired performance characteristics. The thickness of the base material is 16 mm. To guarantee the quality of each layer of the weld, minimize spatter, and facilitate cleaning between layers, our company has opted for a single-sided U-shaped groove. The welding method used is GTAW, and the wire used is 2.5 mm in diameter. For Inconel 82,
Welding materials such as NiCrFe-3 or NiCrMo-3 can be used; both manual electrodes and TIG welding are suitable.
ERNiCr-3 (AWS A5.14), ENiCrFe-3 (AWS A5.11)
Alloy steel welding can be carried out using the weld rod NiCrFe-3 or the wire NiCr-3; this weld rod is difficult to shape and requires multi-layer welding, with attention must be paid to proper cleaning of the weld bead.
