What material is used for the 60% sulfuric acid storage tanks and pipelines, given that the tanks are large in size?
Glass tubes lined with steel are suitable; those lined with fluoropolymer are even better. Plastic tubes can also be used when the temperature and pressure are low.
One could consider fiberglass storage tanks (there is currently a tank with dimensions of φ6000×7300, used for storing finished products) and glass fiber pipes; Based on our company’s experience with glass fiber pipes, they tend to leak when the pipes are cleaned using steam; however, their resistance to acid corrosion seems to be fairly good.
What is the production process for LZ’s 60% sulfuric acid? Is it obtained by diluting 98% sulfuric acid? What is the dilution process? We have also encountered difficulties in this regard; I hope we can communicate more. My email address is: llide@tom.tom
The materials that can be used for 60% sulfuric acid storage tanks and pipelines include fiberglass-reinforced plastic or polypropylene. It should also be noted that in the Jiangnan region, the tanks do not require insulation, but the connecting pipelines, especially those short sections from the tank to the discharge point, do need insulation. In our factory, located along the Yangtze River, it has happened for two consecutive years that when the temperature drops below minus 5 degrees Celsius, the pumps are unable to pump out sulfuric acid; only by locally heating those short pipelines from the tank to the discharge point can the liquid be pumped out.
I’d like to ask those upstairs: is 60% of your sulfuric acid used in the compound fertilizer industry?
Glass fiber reinforced plastic is recommended for storage tanks, while reinforced polypropylene is recommended for pipes. Both of these materials can meet the requirements; the main considerations are the processing technology and strength.
Fiberglass will do; it’s also possible to use fiberglass as a lining inside A3 steel.
The temperature resistance of fiberglass reinforced plastic made from different resins varies. Steam purging is used for pipes at normal temperature, but the method is debatable; leaks are likely to be related to this purging process.
The fiberglass-reinforced plastic material must be of high quality, as the joints where the fiberglass is bonded are the weakest points.
Acid-resistant bricks are used inside the storage tank, which is very reliable; Fiberglass lining is also possible ; The pipes are made of steel-lined tubes or reinforced polypropylene.
What if we make a pump? 60~70%
