As a professional, if you feel that your mood hasn’t been as good as before lately and you’re constantly worried, then what you need most at this time is **high emotional intelligence**. What is AQ? Studies conducted by psychologists on successful people have found that, compared to those who fail, successful individuals experience more setbacks. The key to their ultimate success lies in the fact that those who succeeded had excellent resilience in the face of setbacks, that is, optimism and perseverance. Thus, management experts introduced the concept of Adversity Quotient (AQ), which refers to our ability to handle adversity. Based on my many years of experience in corporate management training, I have seen that the HR departments of many companies follow the \"3Q very much\" standard when selecting candidates, where these 3Qs refer to IQ, EQ, and AQ. According to research by AQ expert Dr. Paul Stozz, people with a low AQ tend to: * feel frustrated and lost * complain constantly * avoid challenges * lack creativity. People with a low AQ often focus excessively on the difficulties in their environment and the faults of others. I often say, “Why am I so unlucky?” ”The sighs only made things more distressing, leading one to fall into a dead end of negative emotions. The tasks at hand often get stuck in this emotional state, resulting in them being abandoned halfway. In contrast, people with a high AQ possess the following traits: * the ability to cope flexibly with adversity * optimism * a willingness to accept challenging situations * creativity in finding solutions. Therefore, those with a high AQ act like \"spring people\" in difficult situations – the harder they are pushed, the higher they bounce back. Instead of being crushed by pressure, they turn it into motivation, becoming more determined with each setback, and ultimately achieving excellence! This is why, faced with the same challenging economic environment, some people complain while others remain optimistic. If you find that your AQ needs improvement, then the current economic downturn is an excellent opportunity for you to significantly boost your AQ and become a \"spring person\"! What exactly should one do to improve their AQ? My advice is: First, never complain; just focus on solving problems. When faced with unfavorable situations, people with low AQ tend to blame others, thinking it’s their fault that prevents them from achieving their goals. After complaining, they usually feel even more depressed, while the problem remains unsolved. People with high AQ usually don’t have time to complain because they are busy solving problems. So please reduce the time spent complaining, because the less time spent complaining, the more time there is for progress. I know a department manager whose company was going through structural changes, with there being a possibility that his department would be downsized. So he worked hard to prepare a proposal for a new project, offering suggestions to his boss and helping to improve the company’s business prospects. As a result, not only were all the employees in his department able to keep their jobs, but he also gained great recognition from his boss. So, put aside your complaints quickly and think about what solutions exist, given that things have reached this point, to help yourself and your team overcome the difficulties. Secondly, the skill of using humor to deal with stress. A friend from an advertising company told me that on the day the company announced a delayed payment of year-end bonuses, a cartoon was posted on the bulletin board in the office hallway: a white rose wreath with a greeting card attached to it that read, “In memory of the big bonuses at the end of 2008!” ”Haha! This behind-the-scenes cartoonist is truly a master of humor! Everyone likes to work with such humorous people, because they are fun and interesting, and can ease the dullness and boredom at work, right? ! In this difficult period of economic downturn, the ability to use humor is an even more precious asset. A sense of humor requires a playful mental framework that enables us to find courage and hope in any setback. And the secret to this lies in stepping back from one’s own role in real time and viewing one’s situation from the perspective of an outsider. For example, recently, with fewer orders and thus less work to do, income has also decreased. Some people are extremely worried, feeling that a disaster is imminent, while others can take it in stride: \"With my aging body in a sub-healthy state, I can finally stop and take some time to rest and recover.\" ” A sense of humor not only helps you break free from fixed mindsets but is also a great aid in coming up with creative solutions. Psychological research has found that those who understand humor and laugh often perform exceptionally well in their studies; their minds remain uncluttered, and they have a constant flow of creative ideas for solving problems! Third, look at the advantages first and then the disadvantages. When setbacks occur, if the first thought is \"It’s over; there’s no hope left,\" it becomes difficult to escape the curse of pessimism. The approach of AQ experts is to, when faced with a situation, first ask themselves: “What is there that is valuable right now?” ”In other words, find advantages in setbacks and turn them into a catalyst for progress. For example, a sudden pay cut is certainly unpleasant, but on the other hand, it’s good that one isn’t on the layoff list; there will still be opportunities to increase one’s income once the economic downturn passes! After all, wallowing in self-pity doesn’t solve any problems; knowing how to find opportunities in adversity is what truly demonstrates a high AQ. I believe that through this AQ training program during this period of economic hardship, you will not only be able to **improve your ability to survive in the workplace**, but also handle setbacks and stress more effectively in other aspects of life, becoming a \"happy and resilient\" person!
