Our company, which manufactures tower equipment, does not have protective panels for welding ladders; we now want to weld them on-site. Is that possible? It should be possible to weld it. I have seen the supports for welding platforms and steel platforms at methanol pressurization tower sites. During the welding process, it is necessary to comply with the manufacturer’s requirements regarding hot work, obtain the relevant permits, and provide pre-job training for the welders.
If welding is really necessary, you can heat it up with an oxy-acetylene torch after welding.
It is completely fine if the equipment is not subjected to heat treatment; it’s just not convenient to do so in the manufacturing facility. Relevant procedures need to be followed, and appropriate tests must be conducted after welding. If it has been heat-treated, that’s a bit of a problem: lol. In theory, welding should not be done again after welding; instead, heat treatment is required (either overall in a furnace or locally).
