What are the dangers of using a centrifugal pump to evacuate for a long time?
The first is damage to the pump, which is very serious. It will also cause the medium delivered by the pump to be interrupted.
In chemical production, centrifugal pumps are common fluid transport equipment. Under normal working conditions, pump equipment runs quite smoothly and has low maintenance costs. However, when the working conditions are unstable, the harm to the equipment is considerable. For example, when the pump transports dirty media, the inlet is easily blocked due to the aggregation of such media, and the pump will become clogged. Once a blockage occurs, the pump will suddenly lose pressure, create a partial vacuum in the pump chamber, and a small amount of medium will cause cavitation. This will increase the vibration of the pump, increase the amount of shaft string, increase the wear of the bearing seal, and even the seal will be burned due to loss of fluid and dry grinding. If the number of times is too high, the pump body, liquid wheel, etc. will be destroyed and the pores will be damaged. Therefore, timely measures must be taken to eliminate this hazard. (:)
1. Cavitation occurs and erodes the impeller. 2. The conveying medium is interrupted. 3. If the pump outlet check valve fails, reverse flow will occur. 4. Seal is damaged.
The most direct one is, of course, that the pump is out of capacity. Let’s talk about the situation encountered in our factory. Our workshop uses a lot of magnetic pumps because we are afraid of acid water leakage. After evacuation, the impact on the magnetic pump will be greater. Long-term evacuation may demagnetize the magnetic pump, so it can only be returned to the factory for repair.
Evacuation of the centrifugal pump will damage the mechanical seal. After being evacuated, there will be negative pressure in the pump, which will easily cause the static ring to rotate at a certain angle, causing the static ring to tilt and destroy the seal.
Centrifugal pump long-term evacuation: First of all, the pump stops measuring and the conveying medium is interrupted, which can be judged from the system liquid level. Secondly, pump evacuation will increase the vibration of the pump and make a loud sound, causing serious damage to the pump. Cavitation will cause damage to the impeller.
First, cavitation occurs! Secondly, the impeller is idling, causing the kinetic energy of the prime mover to not be converted into the static pressure energy and kinetic energy of the liquid in time, which may burn out the motor!
1. The medium stops conveying, which affects production. 2. Cavitation occurs and the temperature of the pump body rises sharply. 3. The impeller is damaged. 4. The machine may be burned out. 5. The packing and seal are damaged, causing medium leakage.
study* Okay, how can you avoid not taking the time?
The pump is empty, which can be judged by the outlet pressure gauge! At this time, the backup pump must be started in time to ensure that the system is not disordered! Re-prime and exhaust the evacuation pump! If the backup pump is also pumped out, it means there is a problem with your pump selection or the installation height is not high enough. It may also be that your conveying medium has changed.
