The moisture content of coke oven gas before it enters the desulfurization tower is related to the temperature of the gas after passing through the primary cooler; higher temperatures result in higher moisture levels. High moisture content also affects the operation of the electrostatic precipitator and can cause damage to the ceramic cylinders, so it is necessary to control the temperature of the gas after the primary cooler
The less, the better; temperature determines its minimum water content, as well as the saturation pressure. The amount of physical water brought in should be minimized as much as possible.
Coke oven gas is first cooled and tar and naphthalene compounds are removed through preliminary cooling and electrostatic capture. Then, it is pressurized by a fan, which naturally raises its temperature to 40-50 degrees, resulting in a low water content. Before entering the desulfurization tower, it is cooled to 25-30 degrees through the spray cooling in the pre-cooling tower; as a result, it will certainly contain some moisture, and the amount of water present should be fixed. It will not have a significant impact on desulfurization.

After benzene removal, in the desulfurization process, the temperature behind the final cooler is controlled at 25–27°C, while the temperature behind the benzene removal tower is around 30°C
