Can a benzene removal tower be used for benzene removal through indirect heating at the bottom of the tower?

Our company currently uses direct steam injection for benzene removal. This means that a small amount of water entering the debenzene tower must be removed through a water separator at the top of the tower. If indirect heating from the bottom of the tower is used, can it reduce the amount of water introduced and eliminate the oil-water separator?
Theoretically it’s possible, but the efficiency is very low.
