What is the relationship between the tower height in ethanol distillation and the initial concentration? (Single tower)
Your question is too simplistic; you should specify the feed concentration, top concentration, broth concentration, etc. Our company’s ethanol recovery tower is about 26 meters tall!
A simple recovery of about 10 meters is sufficient to solve the issue; the equipment for fuel ethanol production requires around 40 meters
If a packed tower is used, with wire mesh packing, 10 meters are sufficient to achieve a purity of 95% ethanol; to obtain an anhydrous product, a third component must be used for entrainment, requiring two towers! The premise is that there is only ethanol and water.
