They are all used as water supply and drainage pipes; I’m not sure if they are the same type of pipe
PVC-u is also known as UPVC (rigid polyvinyl chloride); the “U” indicates the addition of plasticizers, and the chlorine in PVC-u does not release. Pipes have a certain strength, but their impact resistance is low; they are mainly used for water supply and drainage in domestic applications. The differences between PVC-U and PVC are as follows: 1. UPVC and PVC have the same material and the same uses; there is no significant difference between them. 2. The ‘u’ in UPVC stands for “unplasticized”; PVC material that has not had plasticizers added during its production is referred to as UPVC or PVCU. Without the addition of ‘plasticizers’, all the chlorine (Cl) in the PVC raw material will evaporate, whereas in PVC raw material with ‘plasticizers’ added, much of the residual chlorine (Cl) remains undevaporated. 3. UPVC pipes do not release residual chlorine. PVC pipes release residual chlorine.
UPVC is non-toxic and is often used for domestic water pipelines, while PVC is more commonly used for sewage and chemical dosing pipelines; this is my experience, but it’s not guaranteed to be correct.
I have a question: According to what you said, can’t PVC pipes be used in the pretreatment stage of reverse osmosis? The free chlorine tolerance level for polyamide membranes used in reverse osmosis is less than 0.05 ppm.
UPVC is the same as PVC-U. I would like to ask whether a phosphorus removal dosing system can use UPVC? Chemical-grade UPVC must still be used

It’s the same thing; it’s just written differently. One gets used to a company’s style.
U generally refers to polyurethane-based plastic materials. There is a difference between PVC and PVCU, but should UPVC and PVCU have similar chemical compositions? Perhaps the molding processes are slightly different; please ask an expert to provide a detailed explanation
