The generator must not be exposed to the hot sun in summer, etc. (4) When operating an acetylene generator or working in workshops, warehouses and other places where acetylene exists, relevant regulations must be strictly followed, and fireworks are strictly prohibited. (5) Containers or pipes containing acetylene should be kept away from fire sources to prevent splashing sparks from igniting acetylene and causing accidents. Safety rules stipulate that the distance between the acetylene generator and the fire source shall not be less than 10 meters (m). (6) In any case, care should be taken to avoid the formation of an explosive mixture of acetylene and air (or oxygen) in containers or pipes (such as generator tanks, gas bottles, acetylene or oxygen hoses). (7) During gas welding and gas cutting operations, once an explosive mixture of acetylene and air (or oxygen) is formed (such as in the generating chamber of the generator after adding calcium carbide, in the hose where tempering occurs, or in the fuel container for welding repair, etc.), safety measures must be taken to completely eliminate the mixture before welding or repairing can start. (8) Acetylene must not be in long-term contact with copper, silver and other metals. When parts of the acetylene generator, such as pipe joints, valves, gaskets and other accessories are damaged, they must not be replaced with spare parts made of silver and copper. (9) Do not insert a mercury thermometer into the acetylene generator. (10) The impurity content of acetylene should be analyzed promptly. Safety rules state that the phosphine content of acetylene should be less than 0.08% by volume. (11) Before calcium carbide comes into contact with water. The gas chamber should be purged with nitrogen first to exhaust the air. (12) The operation of placing the floating barrel into the fixed barrel of the floating barrel generator.
