Issues regarding the use of materials under standard GB4237-2007

There have been significant changes in the grades of stainless steel specified in the GB4237-2007 standard, but no documents issued by the relevant authorities (the Special Inspection Institute) regarding the usage periods for the old and new grades have been seen. However, the drawings we have now show that the design has been carried out according to the new standard grades, but it’s impossible to obtain steel plates of these new grades from the market unless they are ordered specifically. How does everyone handle this situation? Go through the procedures for substituting materials (you have to handle that for every single **, even for the smallest parts and materials)? Are there any other solutions?
Current designs generally do not use the 2007 standard, as there is no new version of GB150; therefore, the allowable stress can only be determined based on older grades. If the drawing specifies a new grade and it is difficult to obtain that material, it is best to approach the design agency to request the use of an alternative material, using a standard from an older grade instead.
Isn’t there a transition period? When designing, we first have the purchasing department inquire with the suppliers about their products before making a decision; normally, there is a slight delay in the material market
It is best not to use this standard; compared to the old one, the requirements of the new standard are actually lower. Not good!
