Could someone please provide some key points regarding the operation of low-temperature submersible pumps? The cryogenic tank at our facility is about to be put into use
1. The start-up liquid level must be above the centerline of the impeller! 2. After connecting the motor wires, make sure that the rotation direction of the motor is the same as that specified by the manufacturer. 3. Before driving, check the axle to see if there is any rubbing; make sure there is no rubbing. 4. The distance from the bottom to the inlet should be more than 1.5 times the diameter of the inlet. 5. It must not run idle
Also, it must be fully pre-cooled before operation; otherwise, the pump shaft is prone to bending and the impeller will wear out! Then, during testing, it is necessary to monitor the system’s pressure, current, and the vibration of the pump bearings.
