My company's furnace is not working properly recently. There are a lot of crystallized things in the air preheater. The core of the preheater that was just replaced last year has been destroyed this year. The fuel oil our furnace burns is a mixture of catalytic oil slurry and residual oil. Water vapor scale can be cleaned with dilute acid!
If it is caused by water vapor scaling, just wash it with acid, in order to prevent this type of problem from recurring. It is recommended to add phosphate to the preheater if conditions permit to prevent steam water from scaling.
