The multi-material slurry gasification process currently used is a patented process developed by the Northwest Chemical Industry Research Institute. Many special materials, equipment, valves, instruments, etc. are required for this process and must be imported in large quantities from abroad; their prices are usually twice as high as those available domestically. Regarding design issues, the majority of professionals in the industry in China believe that with the successive commissioning of enterprises such as Weihe Chemical, Huaihua Chemical, Dezhou Hualu Hengsheng, Jinling Petrochemical, Nanhua Chemical, Shanxi Fengxi, and Shenmu Chemical, China’s various design institutes and domestic manufacturers have acquired extensive experience in design and operational management. Therefore, it is entirely reliable and safe to entrust engineering design tasks to domestic design institutes. Currently, domestic manufacturers are making a big effort regarding the localization of equipment. In particular, the maintenance costs of imported equipment account for a significant portion of a company’s production costs. Reducing these maintenance costs and replacing imported equipment with domestically produced alternatives is not only necessary but also highly beneficial for improving a company’s economic performance and fostering technological advancement. When constructing new gasification plants, it is essential to conduct thorough investigations, technical evaluations, and comparative analyses to ensure that the implementation is reliable and foolproof; this is the only way to reduce investment costs.
For ordinary slag locking valves, domestic ones can be used; those produced by Shanghai Hongsheng are of good quality. However, for the oxygen cut-off valve and the slurry cut-off valve, it might be advisable to use one imported and one domestic variant, which can help reduce investment costs.
For oxygen slurry valves, those from Shanghai James Nalesi can be used; for lockhopper valves, those from Shanghai KAIWEIXI or Shanghai Hongsheng Valves can be employed. Control valves can be those from Shanghai Datong, especially for valves used in the black water pipeline and the oxygen pipeline. The performance of domestically produced slurry flow meters and pulverized coal flow meters is not very good.
