What are the requirements for constructing cut-fill roadbeds? Please use your wisdom and let’s discuss this. This post was last edited by Welcome on 2009-3-22 16:10.]
There are a few points I’m not sure about – are they correct? I would appreciate your advice: a) For the earthwork excavation used in the construction, the surface area should first be thoroughly cleared ; b) Before excavating the cut, drainage ditches should be dug, and measures to prevent seepage should be taken depending on the soil conditions; temporary drainage facilities should be installed during the earthwork construction ; c) Regardless of the excavation depth, it shall be carried out layer by layer from top to bottom; random or excessive excavation is prohibited, and digging holes to remove soil is strictly forbidden ; d) When excavation reaches a level 30 cm above the top surface of the upper subgrade, digging downward should be stopped. Once construction of the upper subgrade for the entire embankment is completed, this area should be removed along with the replaced material, so that the upper subgrade can be properly replaced or treated in a timely manner ; e) Soil extraction should be carried out systematically and evenly along the working surface; excessive extraction in certain areas must be avoided to prevent puddles from forming ; f) The location, cross-sectional dimensions, and relevant requirements for side ditches, water interception ditches, and other water diversion and drainage facilities shall be constructed in strict accordance with the provisions in the design drawings ; g) Once the designed elevation of the subgrade is reached, drainage ditch construction must be completed immediately before filling can be carried out in the layer 50 cm below the surface of the subgrade bed.
