Our factory has a liquid collection tank containing tower top oil, which has a low density; the liquid is drained every 3 to 4 hours. Previously, small gear pumps were used, but due to the properties of this medium, the pumps suffered severe wear. For high toxicity, magnetic pumps and shielded pumps can be used; If there is no toxicity, a Y-type centrifugal oil pump can be used.
In your case, I think it is feasible to use a plunger pump; when it comes to air propulsion, be cautious as the addition of air can result in explosive mixtures!

The reason is that gear oil pumps are generally used for media with higher viscosity, while centrifugal pumps require consideration of leakage and safety issues. Shielded pumps are typically used for toxic media, and their cooling mechanism depends on the presence of such media.
