Generally, shutdowns caused by thunderstorms are almost always due to the power grid being struck by lightning, which leads to the system shutting down
There are two possibilities. 1. The rectifier transformer trips directly due to lightning strike. 2. Power failure leads to tripping, shutdown of the pump, and process interlock shutdown.
Thundering is mainly caused by lightning affecting the entire power grid, leading to fluctuations in the grid supply and causing large-scale equipment to lose power and shut down instantly； Generally, small pump systems do not trip easily; therefore, for critical or large-scale equipment, anti-voltage-fluctuation devices can be installed to prevent them from tripping due to fluctuations in the power grid. Thunderstorms can cause fluctuations in the external power grid, exceeding the safety limits of the rectifying equipment and leading to voltage instability, which in turn results in a cascade shutdown. It’s God’s will. However, it is possible to increase or improve the setup of the lightning protection devices, or to change the rectification settings (this can cause significant damage to the devices; it is not recommended to alter these parameters unless absolutely necessary)
