On March 11, reporters learned from the Coordination Committee for New Coal Chemical Industry of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association (hereinafter referred to as the ‘Coordination Committee’) that in order to promote the sound and rapid development of the coal chemical industry while actively addressing the impact of the financial crisis on this sector, the Coordination Committee has determined its work strategies and key priorities for 2009. The working approach of the Coordination Committee for 2009 is to assist in **guiding the healthy development of the coal chemical industry**, pay close attention to **the development plans and industrial policies related to this sector**, and actively carry out relevant dissemination and implementation efforts ； Continue to coordinate and support the construction of major projects, and advance the systematic integration and localization of key technologies and equipment in the coal chemical industry ； Monitor the standardization efforts in the coal chemical industry to guide its orderly development. This year, the Coordination Committee will organize seminars on methanol synthesis technology and exchanges on gasification technology. At the same time, it will continue to monitor the progress of major projects, work to ensure the smooth commissioning and implementation of key projects, and pay special attention to the statistics related to methanol and dimethyl ether.
