Users of v7, some of you must have already noticed certain bugs in the software, or symptoms that seem to be related to bugs. Those who have encountered such issues are asked to share them so that we can discuss them together and be aware of these problems in future use. I have identified two issues: 1. When displaying the gas-liquid distribution across the entire tower, sometimes the serial number of a particular plate shown in the data browser is reversed compared to the serial number displayed in the control panel. 2. Some options in the dropdown lists do not match the corresponding instructions provided below. Please share any bugs you have encountered; users of all versions are welcome to contribute. Mine is from 2006; when entering the material details, after pressing Enter the software fails to display the chemical formula. I would appreciate some advice from those who are more experienced
I’m using V7; when performing reactive distillation of acetic acid and n-butanol, I found that the interaction parameters available were incomplete once the UNIQ-HOC property method was selected. I tried using version 2004 instead, and found that the default parameters were complete, which makes me think there might be an issue with V7 in this regard.
There are actually quite a few bugs. I heard from one teacher about a bug he discovered (version 11.1); it seemed to be related to the Polymer module. After reporting it to Aspen’s headquarters, it was confirmed, but I’m not sure if it was fixed later on
