How can I determine the composition of the methanol recycle gas? I can calculate the flow rate of the gas exiting the synthesis reactor and the flow rate of the methanol recycle gas. The key issue for the poster is the conversion rate of CO and CO2, but the poster knows the conversion rate of C (based on the methanol content at the inlet). The composition of the recycle gas has no essential relationship with what you mentioned above; the amount of recycle gas is related to the content of inert gases in the system. With an annual production of 50,000 tons, it’s only possible to calculate how much fresh gas you produce per hour; moreover, fresh gas comes in various compositions. And the system circulation rate can be controlled manually; of course, the composition will also change
