When designing industrial control solutions, how should software aspects be considered?
We just need to specify the process parameters and automatic control procedures; the software is the responsibility of the DCS manufacturer!
One should consider issues related to processing speed and memory! After all, industrial computers are still quite slower than PCs in terms of speed.
For the routine control of ordinary chemical processing units, no special considerations are needed; only for sequence control or emergency shutdown interlock logic, attention must be paid to the order and timing of software execution. The process and safety teams will specify such requirements, and it is sufficient to meet them when determining the control system and developing the software.
