This led to misunderstandings for you and other users, and I am truly sorry. Today I consulted some colleagues and learned about the deficiencies of such ovens as well as ways to improve them, so I am adding this information here. The 7.63m coke ovens manufactured by Wood Company that were introduced into our country came with their automation systems as well (with some manufacturers making their own modifications); this has led to maintenance difficulties. Whenever problems arise, it is necessary to invite foreign experts, which is time-consuming, labor-intensive, and costly ; Another issue is related to the heating level; I believe the main reason for this is that the design was based on the characteristics of coking coal in Germany, which means that the heating design of these coke ovens is not suitable for China’s coal resources. As a result, the temperature in the roof area of the oven becomes too high and difficult to control, usually exceeding 900 degrees Celsius, with some cases even reaching over 950 degrees Celsius. This has an impact on the chemical processes involved, and it poses difficulties for workers and frontline managers. Since this problem was identified, there are mainly two improvement measures being taken in China: one is to change the original three-stage heating system to a one-stage or two-stage heating system, by sealing off the unnecessary air inlets; this has had some effect, though it isn’t very significant ; Secondly, it involves changing the height of the heating level; for example, Yankuang International Coking uses 1210 mm, Taiyuan Iron and Steel as well as Maanshan Iron and Steel also use 1210 mm. The Caofeidian plant of Shougang uses 1440 mm, while Shagang seems to use 1550 mm. I’m not sure about the specific effects of these differences.
