May I ask whether it is the 98% concentrated sulfuric acid that has stopped flowing, or the circulating acid? If it’s the 98% concentrated sulfuric acid, the impact is not significant in the short term, but it will result in a high water content in chlorine; however, if the circulating acid stops flowing, the impact is severe, as it will cause the water content in chlorine to increase rapidly
An increase in the moisture content of acid in the drying tower can have negative effects: 1. It causes severe corrosion of the subsequent carbon steel pipelines. 2. If you are using a turbine compressor, the high-speed rotation of its impeller poses a significant risk. I have one question: why does the acid break down? Could you explain the reason?
If the circulating acid is interrupted, it will cause a rapid increase in water content in chlorine; If the 98 acid supply is interrupted, the impact is minimal in the short term; however, over time it will lead to an increase in water content in chlorine, which can cause corrosion in chlorine pipelines, compression systems, liquefaction systems, and so on.
Acid breakdown can cause moisture to enter the dry chlorine stream; this first leads to corrosion of the chlorine compressors as well as various fittings, pipes, equipment, and instruments. Secondly, it results in a sharp rise in temperature in the areas where acid accumulates behind the drying tower, causing the equipment and pipes to soften due to the increased temperature, which in turn leads to chlorine leakage. The consequences are severe.
From the perspective of pressure control, pressure fluctuations occur. From the perspective of process control, this leads to high temperatures during subsequent drying and severe corrosion.
Does the acid interruption in the drying tower have little impact on pressure? Will it just cause an increase in chlorine content in the water?
Will it cause a high positive pressure on the slot pressure? I’m not sure if it will have an impact on the conveying pressure
