In forums and in real life, I have only seen design standards for valves of small and medium sizes; I have not seen any design standards for large-diameter valves. . . . . . . . . . . I’m very interested in knowing the design standards for valves with a nominal bore larger than 600 mm; of course, these are cast steel and cast iron valves. . . . . I need information on the structural length of the valve, the connection flanges and other types of connections, as well as the minimum wall thickness of the housing, the diameter of the valve stem, the dimensions of the packing box, and the sizes of the common fasteners. I specialize in gate valves. . . I am aware of design standards such as GB/12221 and GB/12234, but in practice, some situations differ from these standards. . . For example, for the Z941H-10-1200 model, the standard structural length is 1015 mm for the short version; in reality, however, the actual length is more often 960 mm. . . There are simply no standard values available for data such as the wall thickness of the shell. . . This confuses me greatly. Although most gate valves with a nominal diameter of less than 600 mm are designed in this way, I couldn’t find any specific standards for the gate valves with a diameter of 800 mm to 1400 mm and operating pressures of 1.0 to 4.0 MPa that I encountered a few days ago. I also design gate valves. The relevant design manuals all include calculations for wall thickness, verification of valve stems, and the thickness of seals. . . It should all be possible to calculate theoretically; if one lacks extensive work experience, then one has to be more diligent.
