Dear sea friends, our company uses plate heat exchangers to recover heat from wastewater, but due to the high level of impurities in the wastewater, the heat exchange efficiency drops rapidly. It is cleaned once a week now. Impurities (yarn, cotton fluff, etc.) are generally found in the water inlet section of the plate, with fewer of them in the middle and lower parts of the plate. Due to space constraints, it is difficult to install filters for maintenance. Is it possible to do this? ——When a decrease in heat transfer efficiency is detected, the wastewater outlet is changed to the inlet, and the impurities inside the heat exchanger are flushed out. When the heat exchanger is operating normally, forward-flowing water is used to wash away the impurities left behind by backflow. In this way, the heat exchange efficiency is maintained, and the cleaning cycle is extended. I haven’t started doing this yet; I would appreciate suggestions from all fellow sailors. Thank you.
This method works perfectly well; it’s commonly referred to as backwashing. However, it’s best for wastewater to flow in from below and out from above under normal operating conditions.
The opinion on the 2nd floor is quite correct; it’s necessary to take into account the amount of backwashing and the pipe diameter, and it’s best to install a secondary line

Whether it’s changing the pipeline or adding dual pipeline filters, both require space. It seems better to add a pipe filter. Personal opinions are for reference only.
