Hello, dear sea friends. I would like to ask for your help in answering this question: For top-loading furnaces, how is the height of the coal loading line in the carbonization chamber determined??? Is there any specific requirement regarding the ratio between the space above the carbonization chamber and the volume of the chamber itself??? 1. The coal line should be around 300 mm, at least; this is the case for coke ovens with a length of 4.3 m or 6 m. As for the space required to store coal above, I need to understand this better. In my opinion, it’s about determining how much space is needed above – 2–3 layers of grid bricks should be sufficient for that purpose, as it serves to channel the airflow
Advice for sailors: Remember always not to arbitrarily increase the height of the coal loading line in the carbonization chamber in order to boost the output per hole. To increase the output per hole, our factory once reduced the thickness of the coal rods by 4 cm, which indeed improved the coal flow and thus the output per hole. However, this led to a series of problems: the space at the top of the furnace became too small, preventing proper exhaust of gas; as a result, excessive smoke was generated during coal loading, and this issue could not be resolved. Additionally, there was always some minor smoke coming from the furnace door, which was difficult to extinguish ; There’s always a bit of burnt stuff on the top of the stove... It’s painful
