As the title suggests, what factors are primarily taken into account regarding the lifting height of a crane? What considerations are there in its design and use?

The selection of the lifting height is determined by the operational requirements. General bridge cranes typically limit the lifting height to within 20 meters. Because when the length exceeds 20m, a special wire rope winding method must be used in the lifting mechanism or the drum size must be increased, which makes it difficult to arrange the lifting trolley and increases the overall dimensions of the crane. For cranes that require loading operations, when determining the lifting height, the height of the attached lifting gear and the vehicle must also be taken into account to ensure that the crane can load items of maximum height into the vehicle. Cranes used for ship loading and unloading should take into account the effects of tidal fluctuations.
