With a very tight schedule and the need to conduct a single test on the turbine right away, and considering that the lubricating oil in the back-pressure compressor is leaking, what is the best way to deal with this situation?
After testing the unit alone, drain the oil, fix any leaks in the tank, refill it with oil, and then start it up again.
I think it’s better to finish dealing with those matters first before starting work; avoiding small issues from causing bigger problems that could lead to delays in starting work, which would be counterproductive
It can be covered with steam and treated by spot welding.
In the end, it turned out that there was a leak at the bottom of the fuel tank, on the side that makes contact with the support platform; it’s extremely difficult to weld in that area! Unless it is welded firmly to the platform!
Then choose a suitable location, clean the area around it, weld it firmly to the platform, and keep the length as short as possible so as not to affect the appearance or functionality.
This is a troublesome issue; oil leakage from the bottom plate requires the oil to be drained and replaced, after which the source of the leak must be identified and welded shut. Since it’s new equipment, the supplier can handle the compensation. Since the fuel tank has been pickled and passivated by the manufacturer, pressure testing should have been done.
The cause of oil leakage from the high-pressure oil tank of the back-pressure compressor was investigated and analyzed; the root cause of the leakage was identified, and corresponding corrective measures were formulated.
