Regarding the hydrochloric acid pipeline issue? Is it better to use enamel-lined pipes for hydrochloric acid, or polytetrafluoroethylene pipes?
Use PTFE tubing for it. But if the requirements are not high, PVC pipes can be used.
The material used is related to your costs; if you’re not concerned about spending money, then polytetrafluoroethylene is a good choice. Polypropylene or PVC can also be used. Enameled materials are not recommended as they are prone to damage, difficult to repair, and costly.
Glass pipes, fiberglass reinforced plastic pipes, or carbon steel pipes lined with plastic (PTFE) can all be used.
Our company uses fiberglass-reinforced plastic pipes as well as carbon steel pipes lined with plastic, and the results of their use are excellent
OP, it depends on the concentration and temperature of the hydrochloric acid you have. If the temperature is not high, CPVC or fiberglass pipes can be considered; if the temperature is high, it is recommended to use PTFE-lined pipes.
ABS and PVC will do; they are cost-effective
The pipe material we use is CPVC; if the pipeline is too long, PTFE flexible connectors are used in between.
The key factor is temperature: at temperatures above 70 degrees, steel-lined PTFE pipes can be considered; for lower temperatures, steel-lined PE pipes are suitable, and PVC pipes work well as well. Steel-lined glass or enamel pipes are difficult to install and prone to damage, so it’s better not to use them. :victory:
The temperature is not high; using steel-lined PE is sufficient. At normal pressure, PP or PVC pipes will do. Enameled pipes are difficult to repair once they get damaged, while those lined with PTFE are relatively more expensive

It depends on concentration, temperature, and pressure. Select materials based on concentration and temperature, and choose the appropriate process based on pressure and temperature. Those who said above that enamel is difficult to install are right about that issue; however, enamel can withstand higher temperatures and greater pressures. Also, you need to choose high-quality products rather than low-end ones. There are many considerations involved in the design of pipelines as well; I have designed over a dozen enamel pipelines, and in 3 years no one has come to me saying there were any problems with them
