Both couplings and unions are used for butt welding or threaded connections between two pipes; I think their functions are the same. I’m not sure if there are any particular considerations when choosing between them, but it seems that unions are used more frequently. Please, experts, help to answer this. Thank you!
The pipe clamp is a pipe joint; it cannot be removed without a union or flange in the vicinity. As the name implies, a swivel joint is detachable.

They are commonly used to extend pipelines; Flexible joints are generally used at the front or back end of pipelines where devices such as valves and water meters are located; they facilitate the disassembly and maintenance of these devices, with the seal being achieved through a tightly compressed gasket in between.
