In long-distance pipeline electric heating systems, it is generally very difficult to provide electric heating over long distances (around 10 km); only a few companies abroad are capable of doing this. Domestic companies are unable to produce products with sufficient length, and the performance of such products is not very good. I would like to know what the reasons for this are. (Here, electric heating makes use of the skin effect and proximity effect.)
I think it’s due to current loss; the power supply can’t reach that far. But can multi-point power supply be used for long-distance electric heat tracing?
It seems to be related to the relationship between voltage drop and current loss. . I’m not exactly sure how to perform a 10km electric semi-heat test. .
Current and voltage are part of the issue, but many manufacturers in China can only achieve 100m; some manage to reach 350m, while the highest level achieved is 24km – but that is by using components and technologies from others. I think there are other factors that are easily overlooked but yet very important, such as distributed inductance and capacitance. I look forward to exchanging more of my thoughts with everyone.
To put it mildly, it’s a technical issue. In China, people generally only learn the basics; whether it’s possible to reach international standards is doubtful, and the actual manufacturing and construction techniques are even worse

It is indeed related to technical processes; it is best if the pipes have insulation. Adding thermal conductive putty between the electric heating tubes and the material pipes can also be very effective.

I’ve just started learning about electric heating elements using wedges; their length isn’t very great, but I’m not sure how to calculate the heat loss. Could that friend give me some guidance? Thank you
