What exactly are the responsibilities of a production technology manager?
1. Organize the establishment and improvement of the production command system, formulate production plans, monitor production activities, and ensure the completion of production tasks. II. In accordance with the production operation plan, keep track of the production progress, ensure coordination among various workshops, organize and allocate labor force, and balance the distribution of equipment and materials. III. Hold regular production meetings once a week to analyze the production situation, propose solutions and measures to address issues, and ensure the full achievement of all production technical targets. IV. Based on production needs, formulate material procurement and supply plans, implement them carefully, and promptly arrange to obtain the materials needed to cover production gaps. V. Improve equipment management by formulating plans for renewal and renovation, organizing regular maintenance, and enhancing the equipment’s condition and utilization rate. VI. Responsible for organizing and approving the company’s activities related to technological innovation, technical upgrades, project initiation, as well as the design and planning of such projects. VII. Responsible for organizing the research and development, pilot testing, scale-up testing, trial production of various new products and new processes within the company, as well as the process of submitting applications for these products. VIII. Responsible for approving the technical standards, process procedures, and process technology management documents for various products within the company. 9. Responsible for technical and quality assurance tasks during production; promptly organize the resolution of any issues that arise, and report major problems directly to the general manager. X. Responsible for managing the company’s work safety, organizing regular safety and environmental inspections, implementing safety and environmental protection measures, and ensuring that any issues are addressed. 11. Regularly report to the general manager on the work under one’s responsibility, and complete other tasks assigned by him.
It depends on the specific company. For example, we keep them separate; generally, only non-technical companies combine them. It mainly involves aspects such as security, management, continuity, innovation, rewards and incentives for both upper and lower levels, and coordination with various departments. I have previously drafted job descriptions for departments such as production, technology, sales, and marketing. First, one needs to think it through on their own; there are many examples available online, but copying them isn’t very helpful for one’s own management skills in the long run.
It can be searched online, but generally two sets are required: personal responsibilities and departmental responsibilities
Haha, it depends on the type of company. In our company, the production manager’s role is simply to do the work; they don’t need to worry about anything related to raw materials or product sales, nor do they even know the prices. There’s no production plan either – it’s just based on experience to determine that more production is needed for a certain product. As for external matters, it’s not possible to let you know everything; efforts are made to keep those in charge of production in the dark. Otherwise, if you know too much, what will happen if you leave? (It’s like trying to deceive oneself.)
