It depends on what is being rotated. Rigid ones won’t work; flexible ones can. Are you referring to axial displacement?

The coupling is sometimes also referred to as a coupling wheel. When installing the coupling, a gap of 2–3 mm is usually left to prevent axial movement of the motor.
