Industrial circulating water at temperatures of 32–45 degrees Celsius contains a large amount of sediment; if side filtration is to be used, what methods and equipment should be employed?
If there is a large amount of sediment, it is not easy to remove it using side filtration, as the sediment tends to settle; instead, the water should be diverted for coagulation and sedimentation. The side filtration system is used to remove turbidity from water, thereby maintaining the turbidity level in the circulating water system.
The system cannot be stopped; only by shutting down the entire plant can all the water used in the circulation process be drained out for sedimentation
Where does the sediment come from? Cut it back at the source. Simple filters are difficult to solve this issue.
A sedimentation tank can be installed, so that cleaning does not affect normal operation

You can choose filters with automatic backwashing; both tubular and suction types are suitable. They are particularly appropriate for filtering liquids containing solid particles, offer a high processing capacity, and provide effective backwashing. Cooling circulating water in power plants and steel mills usually uses these two types of filters. The investment required is not high, and there are no consumable parts – the filter elements only need to be replaced every year or two. If the sediment load is high, the poster might consider using an integrated water purification system that combines coagulation, sedimentation, and filtration~~~:)

Here, the sidestream filtration we use employs high-efficiency fiber bundles as the filtering medium, along with a reliable automatic backwashing process; The filtration capacity is 400 tons per hour ; The circulating water volume is 7,000 tons per hour ; The turbidity increased from over 30 mg/L to around 10 mg/L. If, as the original poster said, it’s all sediment, it is recommended that they consider adding a sedimentation tank, as this substance has a significant difference in density from water, making separation easy; an ordinary sedimentation tank should be sufficient for this purpose! ! !

Side filtration is sufficient; the flow rate should be 3% to 10% of the total flow, with 5% being a good figure – higher values are not necessary. Additionally, the incoming water should be pre-treated before it is introduced into the system
Could you provide a detailed introduction to disc filters?
If the sediment is brought in by water replenishment, it is convenient to handle the water replenishment directly, and the amount of water involved is also small.
