Let me share my opinion first: aside from those compounds that must be converted using methanol, I think methanol fuel is the least reasonable option. If we use methanol as a fuel, then why not use it directly without converting it into natural gas? That way, we could improve the efficiency of coal utilization
Methanol fuel is unreasonable. Heating with coal is already well-established, and it is entirely possible to do without burning methanol or gasoline. Using electricity as a power source is already well-established, and it is entirely possible to develop electric vehicles or buses that can replace diesel, gasoline, or methanol. For civilian use, natural gas or biofuels can be employed; methanol is best suited as a raw material for chemical industries rather than as a fuel
