Want to change career to chemical equipment maintenance management

I currently work in pressure vessel design, and I would like to switch to a role in a chemical company where I can be involved in equipment maintenance and management. I’m not sure what preparations I need to make. I majored in chemical engineering and machinery, and I’ve been working in design for almost 4 years! :o
