Let me give an example, though it may not be very appropriate: A customer of our company who used a 6-ton boiler complained that the flue gas temperature was too high (155 degrees), and asked us to upgrade the air preheater. He wasn’t concerned about corrosion; all he cared about was saving coal, so we reduced the flue gas temperature to 85 degrees. It is used for boiler heating; after each heating season, the air preheater needs to be replaced. But according to him, the savings in fuel costs far exceed the cost of replacing the air preheater.
Do you pay attention to it? Why do I feel like environmental protection seems to be just a formality? However, environmental protection and energy conservation do deserve attention; fragile environments and non-renewable resources seem to have become weaknesses in economic development. At present, the mainstream approach to energy savings is still frequency conversion. Our company has built a new atmospheric-pressure frequency conversion water treatment station; in addition, frequency converters are used for systems with a power capacity of over 11 KW. Some system power savers have also been employed, but overall the cost is too high and the benefits are not very significant
It is also important to establish an energy-saving department within the company; on one hand, this allows the company to meet the inspection requirements of provincial and municipal energy-saving agencies, and on the other hand, it helps to guide the company’s energy-saving policies. It seems that China still has a long way to go in terms of energy conservation – foreigners take energy efficiency into account during the design phase, while in China, energy-saving measures are often considered only after the project has been built
How to effectively manage energy conservation for equipment during an economic crisis
Recycling all wastewater can help save energy and reduce emissions, but whether the costs and efficiency are appropriate requires individual analysis by each factory
For small coal-fired boilers, layered coal hoppers are installed to improve combustion efficiency; an oxygen level detector is added to the control system to regulate the excess coefficient; blowers, exhaust fans, and water pumps are started using frequency conversion; the exhaust gas temperature is monitored to prevent corrosion caused by low temperatures; waste water is collected for use in water film dust removal.
In fact, the greatest way to save energy in boilers is to strictly prevent leaks, emissions, and losses.
These days I’m preparing to upgrade the three boilers in my factory. There are mainly two tasks: 1) Switching to PID feedback control for water supply, with variable-frequency water supply; 2) The design company will provide a plan for implementing variable-frequency drives on the fans, with the costs shared equally between both parties.
