With the new installation at our company, we found that the civil foundation drawings for the compressor are divided into two sections. I would like to ask if doing this will meet the usage requirements? What are the disadvantages in future use? Will resonance occur?
Whether resonance occurs has nothing to do with the foundation being divided into two sections as mentioned by the original poster; it is related to the natural vibration frequencies of the two sections. What devices are included in each of the two sections? What is their relationship?
For piston compressors, the motor is connected directly to the compressor; a large groove is provided in the middle of the compressor base, and the base of the cylinder section is essentially separated from the base of the main shaft housing into two sections.
It shouldn’t be two layers; it should be poured in one go. Unless some design firms or the client entrusts a third party with the construction work after commissioning a design, resulting in such design solutions and high design fees that increase the construction costs for the contractor, this aspect needs to be taken into consideration. (My personal opinion, for reference only)
I’ve never seen it divided into two sections like this. The base is divided into two sections; if there is a difference in settlement (due to long-term vibration), the machine may get damaged. What does the poster mean by “basically divided into two sections”? Are the two parts completely separated, or is the upper part separated while the lower part remains connected? If it’s convenient, it would be best for the original poster to ask the designer why they did it that way! Under normal circumstances, there should be some basis for it. If there are any further questions, let’s discuss them. On the forum, people only interpret the design requirements literally, which may not correspond to the actual situation!
There are those that are divided into two sections; it’s probably due to design requirements. Generally, an integrated base is used, as this facilitates alignment and centering
It should not be designed in segments, as this affects both the stability of the foundation and the lifespan of the compressor~
