Someone majoring in environmental science, sharing their job-hunting experiences

My major in university was Environmental Science. There were 35 students in my class, 18 girls and 17 boys. When we graduated in 2006, 2 of us went to the Hydrology Bureau and 5 went to the Environmental Protection Agency; however, only 2 of us got permanent positions, while the rest found jobs that didn’t match their field of study. It was really difficult at that time to find a job that suited one’s qualifications. Environmental companies require experience, and government agencies in the environmental sector need connections – please share your experiences!
